 So What Do We Know?   (1)

     We know that the Celts existed, and that Celtic culture spread gradually into areas inhabited by Neolithic peoples.

　　ケルト人が存在して、ケルト文化が徐々に、新石器時代の人々によって居住されていた地域に広まったことを、私たちは知っている。  

This expansion was not accomplished by a single conquest, but probably occurred through a combination of invasion, migration, and assimilation. 

この拡張は、一度の征服によって成し遂げられたわけではなく、おそらく、一連の侵入、移民、融合を通して発生した。

We know that the Celts had distinct language, art, and customs, including ceremonies and rituals.

ケルト人には、独特な言語、芸術、式典と儀式を含む習慣があったことが、わかっている。

We know that they had religious beliefs and practices, and we know enough about those beliefs and practices to make them the foundation of our own.
