    The inner court ultimately came to be dominated by eunuchs and imperial affines (the emperor's relations by marriage).

　　内廷【 皇帝の生活の場 】は、最終的に、支配されるようになった  /  宦官【かんがん： 後宮の世話をするために去勢手術を受けた男性で、やがて皇帝の日常生活の世話もするようになり、皇帝の近くに侍っていることから、次第に権力を持つようになった】と外戚（ 婚姻によって、皇帝と親戚関係になった人々 ）によって。

In the last decades of the Western Han, several eunuchs took control of many aspects of the court, while the Wang family attained power through successive marriages to emperors.

西漢【 前漢： 首都は西の長安 】の末期の数十年、数人の宦官が、宮廷の多くの局面をコントロールするようになった  /  一方、王一族は権力を握るようになった  /  何人もの皇帝との婚姻が続いたことによって。　

These patterns continued under the Eastern Han.

The first three emperors, who came to the throne as adults, were effective leaders, but thereafter the Eastern Han court was dominated, in bloody alternation, by eunuchs and imperial affines who routinely held the post of mashal of state and commanded the capital army.
