生物が最初につくられるためのすべての条件は、現在、存在している...いくつかの温かく小さな池の中に...と、しばしば言われる。　

          Near the horison, a small sun sinks, casting a reddish glow over the landscape. 

　　 地平線の近くまで、小さな太陽が沈み、赤味を帯びた輝きを、一望の風景の上に投げかけている。

The land is low and flat, its lagoons and pools interspersed with muddy banks.
